- Round up of 2009 by Deano

We just wanted to say a big Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all of you and a massive thanks to everyone that has shown us support over the last year - friends, family, radio presenters (especially Siany from The Wave, Jay from Bay Radio and Russ, Caroline, Mark and Stu from Radio Tircoed), promoters, venues (Carol, Rich and Rob -Milkwood Jam, Steve - Oceana, Becca and Adam - Vice), magazines, local reporters, you have all been brilliant to us and we really appreciate it.

Of course, our biggest thanks go out to everyone that has come to see us play this year. It means a lot to see everyone come out and support bands that are chasing the dream and write their own music.

*Deano's round up of 2009 for No Obligation*

Last year was a good year for us:

Selected to play the first ever Swansea Live festival - May - 20 bands were selected to play out of hundreds and it turned out to be a massive success. Swansea BID really out did themselves and put on a great event. We have been asked back to the next one if it happens and we were mentioned as a highlight band in the press. More events like this please!!!

Finalists of Oceana's Club Idol Competition- June/July- we entered this not expecting to get anywhere as we are a rock band but we ended up being voted through to the final by judges from the South Wales Evening Post, The Wave 96.4fm and Mark Jermin from the Mark Jermin Stage School. The final was brilliant and we had an amazing night, playing our new song ''Party'' for the first ever time to a big Oceana crowd.

Llanelli Battle of the Bands- July/August - We played our heat in Turnstyles in Llanelli, and we were amazed at how much the people liked us, and how appreciative they were of good live music. The whole point of this competition was to bring back the buzz of live music to the area and it certainly did that. The locals voted us through to the final held in the Metbar which was packed. The crowd seemed to really like us and we think we did ourselves proud. Huge thanks to the Metbar, Turnstyles, Cadno Music, Feedback Magazine and the judges and to everyone that turned up to cheer the bands on!

Headlining 2nd Stage at Pontardawe festival again - August - It was so good last year they asked us back again. What a gig! Hands down the biggest and loudest sing-a-long we have ever had! Big thanks to Izzy, Ruth and David and all the team for having us back and putting up with us even though we were loud and drowned out the act on the main stage - oops ;)

First Swansea Band to headline the new stage built at Vice rock club - September -  this was quite an honor - since its completion the stage has been graced by acts like LA Guns, Heavens Basement, Wednesday 13 and more and we will be returning there to gig with 'Spit Like this'

The Monster Bash Halloween Gig 2009 - October - I worked my ass off organising and promoting this gig, we all did, and I really wanted to prove that if venues, promoters and bands worked together as a team then it could bring results and prove there is hope for Swansea's music scene. Mission accomplished.

We played to a near capacity crowd in Milkwood Jam and donated £250 of the profits to the Wave 96.4fm Cash for Kids Charity. Once again huge thanks to the sponsors (Dynamic Rock Indoor Climbing Centre, TeamForce Paintball, VUE Cinema, The Wave, Milkwood Jam), Mike Leahy for the flyers, Forever Vendetta (who worked their asses off helping me promote it) The Vintage Sound and the Glass Leaves, Jahonny Rickwood for hosting, and all that came down to an amazing night!

Supporting the Automatic and The Futureheads - November - We were invited to support these guys playing at a BBC Children in Need Fundraiser in Oceana, Swansea. A big honor for us, we jumped at the chance! This is the biggest support slot we have had since Lucie Diamond last year. Pics and Vids coming soon! As far as I know this was also the first ever live music event held in Oceana and ourselves and Sierra Alpha were the two local supporting acts that were part of it!

This year has also seen us working with England Based clothing company Charge Clothing - you may have noticed us wearing some very cool T-shirts at some of our gigs! Check them out www.chargeclothing.com

It's been a year of mostly highs for us and having your support has certainly contributed to that! We look forward to seeing you all next year!

Have a good one guys!

Keep rocking,

Deano and the band

- Vice last night

Sadly we heard last minute that headliners Spit Like This had to cancel, as did one of the other support acts - due to travel and weather conditions.

It was left to us then, and Forever Vendetta, (who we gigged with on Halloween) to provide the live music for the night.

It was a cool show and would like to thank everyone that came along!

We have been informed that Spit Like This will be re-scheduling the gig sometime in the new year so we will keep you posted!

Keep an eye out for our next update as we have got a xmas update coming up for you :)
